Terrazzo Finisher
Job Description:
A Terrazzo Finisher specializes in installing and finishing terrazzo surfaces, creating decorative and durable floors, walls, and other structures by blending materials like marble chips, cement, and epoxy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Preparing surfaces for terrazzo installation, including cleaning, leveling, and ensuring proper moisture control.
- Material Mixing: Accurately measuring and mixing terrazzo materials, such as cement, epoxy, and marble chips, according to specific formulas and designs.
- Installation: Pouring, spreading, and leveling terrazzo mixtures to form bases or finished surfaces using various tools like rakes, shovels, and trowels.
- Finishing: Grinding, polishing, and smoothing terrazzo surfaces to achieve a uniform and aesthetically pleasing finish.
- Pattern and Design: Creating decorative patterns and designs by incorporating metal division strips, colored terrazzo, or specific chip arrangements.
- Repair and Maintenance: Repairing damaged terrazzo surfaces, addressing imperfections, and applying sealants or curing agents to maintain the integrity and appearance of terrazzo installations.
Skills and Qualities:
- Physical Stamina: The work can be physically demanding, requiring lifting, bending, and working in various positions.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in mixing materials, following designs, and achieving a high-quality finish is essential.
- Knowledge of Materials: Understanding the properties of terrazzo materials, including cement, epoxy, and various aggregates, is necessary.
- Tool Proficiency: Being comfortable using a variety of tools, including grinders, polishers, and trowels, is essential.
Requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 Years of Age
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable Transportation
- Willing to Travel
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
